We're happy to have new people in our training timeslots almost every week! 🏀👍
To make our training sessions fun and productive, we all agree on the following basic rules:
Be punctual.
A few minutes late is okay, but please stay within a 10-minute-delay. If you arrive much too late, you may unfortunately not be able to take part for didactic reasons. The coach is also not allowed to leave the entrance door of the gym open for too long, which is another good reason for punctuality. :)
If you decide to join the training, we expect you to follow along all the time and stay until the end.
The coach takes care of regular hydration breaks. If you need an extra break, talk to the coach.
Follow instructions
Training needs discipline. Our coaches are not getting paid and use their personal free time to prepare drills and lead the training for you. Let's appreciate their efforts and follow their instructions at all times.
Your equipment: indoor shoes (preferably proper basketball shoes), towel
P.S.: If you're only interested in free play, look for a non-training-timeslots here.
Get the good vibes going! 🏀😎👍

Focus and listen.
If we got new people to our group, welcome them and do a quick introduction round.
People can stretch if they want to.
Coach gives a short summary of todays drills and important topics.
Each month has focus topics, which we concentrate on here in the focus training section.
Always follow the coach’s instructions. Respect your coach and your team.
Discipline, respect and fun.
The coach has prepared exercises for the focus topics of the current month. Use this as an opportunity to improve your own skills.
If needed, the coach will explain the drills to you. Listen carefully.
While execution the coach might give you feedback and instruct you on proper execution. Be open for that feedback.
The goal of the practice game is to learn and minimize the risk of injury despite different skill levels. Therefore, rule violations are generally called out strictly and explained by the coach directly in the situation. In addition, the coach will interrupt the game in appropriate situations in order to optimize it (e.g. if there is too little passing, too many people in the zone, the game becomes too aggressive or unfocused, ...).
If the coach sees that basics such as positions for the following practice game are not clear to everyone, he explains them before the start of the game.
The coach will decide the game mode and set the rules, which might include:
Special rules aimed at specific learning effects (e.g. heavy ball, no dribbling, ...)
Full court or half court
Defining a team captain (especially in full court play)
Defining timeout rules
Who calls fouls
...
Everybody focusses on:
Teamwork
Applying what you've learned
Building up a clean game in offense AND defense
Fair play
Fun
Respect

If your topic needs more time, talk to the coach afterwards, so he can decide whether to give it extra time in one of the next timeslots.
